Happy new year, guys! I am never sure if I totally love the idea of new year’s resolutions, but I definitely love setting goals and hitting the reset button any time of year. And since I have a lot of cookies and cocktails to work off, the reset button is sounding pretty darn perfect right now. For me nothing feels better than getting back in the grind of cardio, weights, and healthy clean eating. My favorite way to kick things off is with detox smoothies and juices. Today I thought I’d share some of my favorite green smoothie tricks and one of the recipes I use to get back into the swing of things.

December Workout Playlist

You may remember I was toying with the idea of Workout Wednesdays, to keep us in the sweaty groove I thought I would dedicate the first Wednesday of every month to sharing my workout playlist and a few other tips and tricks! Click of the photo about to check out my December booty shakin’ playlist. As hard as a 6 am run sounds or a post work bike ride, it’s way easier when you have fun music to work it to!

post workout essentialsAfter a workout I don’t always have time to head home and beautify. I also don’t love running errands or meeting friends in my sweaty gym clothes, so for our December edition of Workout Wednesday I thought I’d my post-workout essentials.

  1. Comfy Sweats or Yoga Pants // I swap my sweaty leggings for something clean, but equally comfy!
  2. T Shirt & Hoodie // Another necessary, but comfy swap after ditching sweaty lycra tanks.
  3. Green Juice Smoothie // I love going home and making green juice and a protein shake, if there’s no time to stop at home a friend taught me a great trick. Buy a green evolution juice and a banana at your nearest Starbucks and they’ll blend it into a smoothie for you! Perfect in a pinch. I also always carry Quest bars for post workout protein (chocolate chip cookie dough is the best.)
  4. Makeup Remover // I use these all over if I don’t have time to shower to keep myself feeling somewhat fresh.
  5. AviatorsBaseball Hat & Creaseless Hair Ties // These are mostly for hiding the fact that I am a red hot mess. If you end your workout looking glamorous you didn’t do it right (at least that’s what I tell myself!)
  6. Jawbone // I don’t have a Jawbone yet, but I had to include it because I love the idea of tracking your workouts! This counts calories burned so you can compare workouts and know how to healthily replenish.
  7. Slip-on Shoes // If you’re heading to Pilates, yoga, barre, or some other shoeless class, Tom’s are a great comfy shoe for getting to and from class. Otherwise I stick to trainers (how cute are these leopard Nikes!?)
  8. L’Oréal Fresh Dust // Trust me on this one — best dry shampoo ever. Smells amazing, too!
